Hasenhutti ( Leipzig manager ) said about Burke ‘his hard drive with regard to work off the ball is empty.’
Could’ve told him that 3 or 4 years ago - 2 x big money transfers but little has changed.

I'd still take a gamble on him and bring him back. Not anywhere near the fee that we sold him for though.
I reckon Karanka and Brazil (who knows what makes Burke tick) could get the best out of him.
As far as I know though, we are not interested in re-signing him.

I don’t think he will come back however there is a good chance lives in Nottingham (ik this for a fact, with his partner/partners family) however seems to be happy at West Brom and with them now in championship why would they sell him...?

If he stays at WBA in the Championship...you expect him to be a regular...if not nd is stuck on the bench...then it means that the biy has gone backwards...if all the hype about him when leaving was justified...he should romp this league...nd being part of an ex premiership team should help him even further...aslong as WBA dont end up like Sunderland...but unlikely...they r a team that r used to bounce back..

I think the lad made the wrong choice to go to Germany when he first left us, at such a young age too. He seemed to lose his way, it was a huge step for him.
I wouldn't be surprised if he ripped up the Championship next season.

He was Jock, Jenas, Reid and Dawson all did the right thing, I am sure that if Burke could turn back the clock he'd stay in England too and develop his game with his family and friends close to him etc.

You’re right Sniffer. My concern for Burke is that he has not got the natural ‘football brain’ of the others that you mention. I remember coaches ( U18, U23 & first team ) effectively talking him through games & yelling at him to track back etc.

Thought that I would bump this thread back to the top now that rumours and speculation have started about Burke returning to the City Ground.

I saw him playing for Scotland underage last summer and his confidence was totally shot. he made a mistake for wba this season as well giving the ball away and the other team scored, was heavily criticised for it.
i don't think hes happy there.

It's no secret that, if it had been down to him he would of stayed & if he could he'd come back, he would.
It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, it really does. Bloody Fawaz.
Plus don't get me started on where half of the transfer fee went to...(allegedly) :@ :@
