Nottingham Forest are considering a move to bring safe standing to the City Ground with discussions having taken place ahead of government approval being formalised.

I never did 'get' the whole 'standing' for 90s (plus extra time if you have it) thing.
Did some standing up when I watched Chesterfield plays Keegan's Fulham. (1-0 to Fulham that day.). Bit hard to see through a crowd of bodies (I'd have to bring my own crate box to stand on.) Much prefer the lofty vantage point of 'N' in Brian Clough were I can sit, 'Clough Style,' (!) with my arms folded running my scrutinising eye over the Forest team. That sad, who doesn't like standing up and jumping around like a loon when Forest score? The kinetic 'jump and roar' as 'one' with the Forest faithful. Greatest buzz in the world. SA. This is why it's necessary though, so some people who enjoy standing all game (like myself) can without interfering with others that may want or need to sit for whatever reason (be it health, height or just personal preference) A Block is basically safe standing already anyway right now. Might as well make it legal, can get more people in there legally then too and stop getting bruised by the chairs celebrating goals!

Never understand those who object to the idea with the I dont want someone standing in front of me arguments. Thats the whole point, go and sit somewhere else then, it stops the arguments when someone wants to stand in a sitting area too.
The other objection is safety which successive governments have hidden behind for 30 years now, every ground in the country has been transformed since then.

I guess if it's 'standing' designated I guess you can't complain about the 6.5 guy's bonce being in the way of you sitting dow. ;) Another thing about seating at the City Ground. It's very....'cosy.' A bit like tight car parking spaces. Or some 'big blokes' knees in the back of your seat. :P All Forest fans suffering together, I guess. Not quite like the leather seating and 'spread your legs' room you get for Man U's coaching staff. I like the sweet irony of paying somebody's wages so they can sit comfortably whilst you're sat on modestly sized, hard plastic seat for 90s minutes and then see your team rhubarbed by Blackburn Rovers. Still, the atmosphere at the City Ground is electric. ('I cam' 'ere for thee atmoSpheeere.' Kenny.) SA.

As long as the kids area stays seated then i'm for safe standing but i do want my kids to be able to see and standing behind someone getting a limited view isn't going to make them want to come back.

Would imagine it'd only be main stand and Lower Bridgford that goes standing and the rest all seater. Family stand will always be seated |
