I have been pleading with CH all week NOT to pick me! I told him that Alex must be given a run out as he deserves a place in the starting line up. Hopefully with some rest my confidence will return and I can start to play like I did last season.

especially with a large and increasing number of available players and the option to field 5 subs, the most experienced, pressure players could make a far more significant contribution coming on later in games, against tiring defences, fresh and composed and there class has far more chance of shining through .. assuming we aren't 5 nil down at this interjection .. but those chomping at the bit, full of energy and wanting to impress can really help contribute to accumulating lots of points

if Alex and co did there work you could have Lolley, Cafu, Freeman, Knocky, Grabbs or whoever even coming on against tired maybe reduced to 10 men opposition, this is the key benefit of a large experienced squad

our depth of squad should enable us to comfortably play and probe high up the pitch to create many opportunities, maybe not today but when it comes to the easier, injury ravaged, low on confidence, the easy to pick low lying fruit.

But - then again PSS - they’ve probably read your insight & are planning to do exactly that to us

4 x defenders on the bench - inc 2 x centre backs.
No room for Mighten - is he injured?

Able to field arguably his first choice back four for the first time this season.
Small steps but - fingers crossed - today will show ( even with a draw ) we are making progress.

Like that a lot, certainly don't think we'll lose today, it's just whether we can bag at the other end.

I think we are finally getting there. Still a long way to go, but I think Hughton's finding his team's spine & guts.
