That 10 points would now see us sitting in third place believe it or not.

I disagree actually, looking at the squad we had available for those games. Maybe something more from the Cardiff and Boro games but otherwise Cooper would've been starting Bong at LWB with Back at RWB.

Against easier teams than the teams we played before that and with a full squad squad we didn't have until game 6 or 7.

Why do we always have to be either relegation certainties or suddenly promotion challengers? Can't we just be a midtable team with room for improvement? Let's not massively build up expectations again or alternatively not panic after a few draws against better teams.

In our first 4 games we played the current 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th then Derby which is obviously an awkward game. Not a defence of Hughton just trying to make it clear that quality of opposition matters.

I always thought we had a tough start.

Apart from the top two there is nothing in this league.

Look at those teams above us. They are no better than us and are only above us because of Hughton and our crap start.

We were worse obviously but we also had harder matches, plus we didn't have Lowe, Spence, Garner, Zinc for the first 5 games or so.

As much as I prefer the setup now and the positive attitude the easier fixtures has been part of the reason too, added in a bit of luck in a few games too

I think we're a midtable team however with a few improvements in the right places we could be more and we hopefully won't be too far back come Jan 1st. Exciting times compared to how it's been since Covid started anyway

You mean with all the refereeing decisions gone our way

I’m assuming that’s sarcasm given how many penalties Brennan Johnson should have had?

Correct and not just Brennan.

Plenty of food for thought.

If we continue at the same rate we will get 47 more points this season, giving us a total of 72.
Over last 4 years this would finish 7th, 6th, 8th, 8th

January is going to be important, do we kick on and get better, stay the same or lose key players.

I suspect we'll lose players and the season will tail off as a result.

It's going to be tight and we have to start winning games again soon. Draws wont do it.

I've always said top 6 is a realistic ambition if we keep the side together. But taking Brennan, Lowe and Spence out of the side, considering how they've performed for us, will be a major blow.
