The Inquest Now The Dust Has Settled

For them to still be in this division after being in the play offs for the last 4 years, and in view of the money thats been pumped into that club in that time by Mad Mell, well thats what a team of bottlers look like.

Well said Pap

I think going forward, we need to get our house in order during summer. January transfer window is an absolute pig's ear for "normal" clubs like us. DirtyLeeds didnt exactly go mad in window and did OK. Granted WBA took Grosicki from Ull instead of us, but otherwise players that got teams challenging were players who got them there in first place.

Aside from that? Its early days still. Sabri to stay for me, but be more creative especially at home.

Harsh but I agree. Cant help thinking we would have scraped a point against Barnsley and wouldnt have imploded against Stoke had Samba been in goal. Not that Smith made awful mistakes, its just the confidence that a solid keeper gives to the defence, reckon they might have kept their heads.

The key point here, that several have already pointed out, ONE CENTRE FORWARD for a whole season.
That's the nut's and bolts of it.
What we needed was the 6'4 target man to see games out or steel a point or three.
We also needed an able backup to Grabban.

There was little wrong with the midfield, defence or wide areas.
There were however times when you wondered where the goal would come from.

They needed to grasp the nettle of recruitment.

but a weak Jan left Forest exposed to a congested run in.

no serious back up to Grabban.

no serious back up to Sow.

im sure recruitment and the Coach have been summoned to explain themselves.

Not sure about that SM. I think that only scratches the surface and the problems ran much deeper than that.

As a back up keeper we could do an awful lot worse than Jordan Smith.
Who are we going to get that is both good enough & happy enough to come and sit on the bench?

Milosevic, Chema and Yacob. Why did we let them go?

They all could have played a part.

Bizarre. Who's decision was that?

To my next door neighbour who has just ( unsuccessfully ) tried to engage me in conversation ( he’s been desperately trying for the last few days ) re our capitulation on Wednesday I have just 2 words:

f**k Off

Although you profess to be a Liverpool fan the nearest you have been to that city was watching The Liver Birds on TV. You are trying to bring your young son up in the same way despite your lack of affiliation for that part of the world judging by his sudden emergence in the full kit every minute of the day since lockdown began. You thoughtless pot hunters do my head in. Perhaps you might get to see a game some day - no I thought not. You’re just another of these faceless idiots professing to have travelled the world supporting your club when in actual fact the nearest you came was to purchase Sky Sports.
Please confine our conversation to the British weather.

He did yes but he also had a contract at Forest.

I am sure that we could have come to an agreement where he left at the end of the season instead of half way through it.

Yeah. Stuff like that is disruptive.

Forest's problems were fundamental.

No alt striker to Grabban last Summer.
Car got klonked on his ankle in the Summer and we didn't really have an ACM to replace him. He clearly doesn't like getting roughed up. And we didn't have a Tomlin to replace him.
January. We had two decent runs with Sow in the side. But, being pivotal and played so much it was a matter of time when he would break down and when he sat down on the pitch? There went Forest's play off chances. Ie no replacement.
Recruitment sucked.
The Coach couldn't play his hand.

And Forest got found out with no plan b.
