In Ben’s case it seems like an excellent move. He was at least third (maybe 4th) choice here under karanka. He obviously felt he needed to be playing rather than be a reserve and he’s been offered the chance to lead the attack for an improving team with solid history and fan base that will probably be safe in championship.
Seems like a no brainier if I was him, shame more young players don’t make the effort to find somewhere they can play every week. It’s different to a proper loan move to as in that case he’d never be priority as the club will always prioritise their own players (like us and Dowell) so worth doing it permanently.
So many young players stuck at prem teams missing the time to develop into top players (Tammy being a great example). Bamford was too, loads of loan moves then it takes year to catch up. Good on him I guess is what I’m saying
