Dyche criticized the players because they lost, and he was deflecting blame from himself. He’s basically admitted he never coached them properly in terms of patterns of play, approach to pressing each opponent etc.
If the players didn’t try, it they didn’t do what he asked them to do I’d understand some criticism in public especially if it’s a repeated thing, but he just turned them out without prep and blamed them for whatever went wrong.
