Nottingham Forest - Wigan

If Joao Carvalho's name was Ben Osborn then he would have been driven out of Nottingham by an angry mob by now.

My Mrs's  family are all Southampton fans so I went with them to the Palace match on Saturday before hotfooting it back to the City Ground for Sunday. Saturday I sat and watched 2 premier league teams who are in a relegation scrap and they are both miles ahead of us. If we did somehow get promoted then we're going to be in some serious trouble next season.

I reckon that apart from Brice Samba, no current player would be good enough for a starting place in a premier league team.

No, but you can say that of most teams that go up and some find a way to stay up.

Agree with most of you r saying, IF we sneak promotion with this team, to have a chance of survival, only three players will do the grade... Samba, Cash nd Worrall .... the rest will be loaned out of paid off ... we will have to sign 10 to 12 players ... or we will be relegated by Christmas... as part of the 25 men squad maybe we can keep; Grabbs, Silva, Figi nd Sow ( if he can keep himself on his feet) ... that's about it...

Either way, back to my original point, the financial weight he carries is the reason why we can't afford to keep him on the books just to develop him, or have as 3rd/4th choice backup.

Whereas on the flipside we're not paying any transfer fee out for Yates', and he signed a new contract Jul 18 when he barely had any game time to his name so will be on relative pittance wage wise. That you can afford to develop, and keep as 3rd/4th choice backup.

Alf why do you think that any club is going to spend that sort of money on Carvalho? ... we shafted Red Bull when they signed Burke, and they shafted WBA in return ... now he is worthless and probably will go on a free to a L2 team when his contract runs out ... Benfica shafted us with Carvalho,  and now we r hoping that some team sign him on just watching YouTube highlights...definitely not by sending scouts to the City Ground...

He may be our saviour - no complaints from me - but some of his team selections again today were baffling.

Wigan are no mugs despite their positsion.

We don't know which players are carrying slight knocks etc so we should cut Sabri some slack.
6 points from our last two games. It's been a good Christmas.

So is yacob.
Pants is better than muric and Smith

Obviously must be some underlying circumstances because we would have a better squad with these lads included  . More experience.

Pants was rubbish, glad we got rid of him! People need to forget about these players as they've cleared been binned off.
(For what's it's worth Jacob does seem like he'd add value but maybe he's just not fit enough?)
Pants gone?
Where? When?

Interesting to see therefore Mowbray’s comments this morning where he claims to be counting his walking wounded as a result of ‘fatigue injuries’ ahead of Wednesday’s game.
Food for thought.

Well technically under contract but appears theres absolutely no intention of him playing again. I actually meant replaced when I said got rid anyway.

Point being we brought in players like muric semedo bostock etc when we didn't even need them. More expense added.

We didn't know they'd be worse when we signed them though, could've easily gone another way (and I think semedo still has value) Muric was highly rated and we fought off others to sign him. I'd argue the signing of samba is only enhanced by the fact they mo d quickly after realising Muric was rubbish

Totally agree, hence why I said "Won't recoup"
