Being nowhere near as knowledgable as the experts on this thread, I shall wait until the window closes and we’ve seen how new signings fare after a number of games before I arrive at a judgement.

So we have signed 20 (?) players since Aitor left.
Were we really that far off being serious playoff contenders when we made his position untenable?

Also neee to remember about outgoings as well, either temporary or permanent during those 4 windows and not including those that were bought before.

Came home to bite us in the bum yesterday. No coincidence that our best signing so far has been a proven top 6 Champ player.
Semedo and Silva in particular look good when the goings good, but lost when it isn't. Typical of players who are still adapting to the league. It's a bit pointless us continuing to sign loan players who need time to adapt to this league, if they're only going to go back to the parent club.

I’d argue Samba and Sow both look really good and they fit into the standard recruitment strategy. When you consider the options we have in CM, it’s the position we can afford a few misses in at least (01-09-2019, 03:56 PM)wassy04 Wrote:(01-09-2019, 11:12 AM)Alf Wrote: Came home to bite us in the bum yesterday. I think we should focus our efforts more on players like Adomah who have already proven themselves as top 6 players in this league. |
