I am not trying to be funny here, serious question for debate...
Can any of the 7 people who have voted no please tell me what Pantilimon brings to the table, what his strengths are and why we shouldn't replace him.

83.67% have said we should sign a new goalkeeper.
I have to say that I though it might be a bit closer than that.

He was the only reason we had seven minutes injury time today.

Surely Dawsons injury and all the subs also contributed to the 7 minutes?
I am not Costels biggest fan but I am not going to blame him for absolutely everything.

Our defence, barring a brief period under DF where we basically didn't have an attack, has been crap for years. Since Pants has been between the sticks, it has improved alot and besides Villa game has been really solid of late-with the attacking side also looking decent. A bit like when Chett and Coops were at CH, sometimes the chemistry makes the the whole more than the sum of its parts.
So to answer your question directly, he brings a reasonable keeper to the side, but also a really good defensive record now. I get that he isnt Jack Butland, but replacing him with another keeper can easily upset the chemistry. I think we should only get another keeper if we know it will be a big upgrade. Heaton had a terrible injury and Westwood only played 18 times last season and 0 this, despite being 34 at his peak for a keeper. If it ain't t broke.....

It is broke in my opinion and he needs replacing.
I hope Karanka can see it because I can guarantee that Marinakis and Vrentzos can.

Pants is OK, but not great.
I'd be happy with him as our number 2 keeper, can live with him as our number 1 keepe, especially when we've got a fully fit squad too.
But I also think a quality replacement would net us an extra 10 or so pts a season, and that could make a massive difference.
If we go up he'll definitely need replacing, so we may as well look to do that asap anyway.
