Completely understand, I’d like him given a free role in the middle with two strikers to give him space and options personally. 

I wonder if Wilder wants him back in January to either (1) give them a lift or (2) go somewhere where he is going to get some real game time.

Whats your theory then on why such a capable championship player seems so below his level?

Because he is firmly wedged in the ‘comfort zone’.
20k a week, a millionaire, never gonna be any more than a championship player, and has no desire.

Seems plausible, if he moves somewhere and hits the ground running then he can be some player but otherwise he has a big contract and is still getting paid.

Reds, is that just a frustrated comment by you are have you picked up a few snippets that he's coasting?

I'm surprised if this is true, he's proved over a number of years that he's a really decent player.

Just articulating my preference - almost diametrically opposite to the way Hughton will line up.
One of my concerns is that we continue to concede soft goals - and both of our full backs are better going forward than defending.

Looking at that team above it's so obvious what we are screaming out for. A good attacking midfielder to play just behind Taylor/Grabban and replace one of Sow, Arter or Cafu who are all one of the same. Even Stevie Wonder can see it.

So what the bloody hell is wrong with Freeman? He should be making that position his own.

Yep, we can all debate the effectiveness of the summer's signings, but Freeman's absence/lack of form/lack of effort has definitely created a hole in the side.

I suppose so. We have a dearth of CB's and a couple of attacking FB's so I'm surprised a back 3/5 hasn't been tried yet. But didn't I read once that CH had only played his teams that way just a handful of times? Think that's right.

Having said that, Sabri tried playing 3 CB's a few times last season and it was generally a unmitigated disaster.
