The last 3 years have had highs and lows....however i will always have the 29/5/22. The first time i got to take my eldest to Wembley to see the Garybaldis. Not afraid to admit i shed a tear that day....man, that was special! All good things come to end but this seems to be premature because of the lack of backbone by some. I could accept SC moving on to a Brighton etc as , at the moment, that would be progress for him. This just feels wrong though and i cannot forgive the players for this. SC deserves better and i believe he will get it...just not at NFFC. I hope i am wrong

I hope the travelling Red Army give out a rendition or two of 'youre not fit to wear the shirt' and 'you sold Steve Cooper out!', especially if the side are as spineless and clueless as they were on Wednesday night.

7 changes yesterday effectively reverting to the team from early last season and we looked a lot better for it. What they lacked in quality they made up for in effort and desire.

Which says something about the more recent additions which were brought to improve the quality of the team and to progress us as per EMs ambitions. We have probably invested too much in some of them to simply discard but any who do play again are going to have to be massively improved in both performance and attitude to regain my respect.

Fair points SM. Toffolo was great yesterday as was Neco and others. They are players however who have been written off time and time again as not good enough by some of our fans yet now, because of effort those same fans raving about them. I think the new players will come good. Taiwo took time as did Mangala as another example. Sangare in particular has come in for stick. I think he’s made a steady if not spectacular start upto and including against West Ham but been poor since, coinciding with coming back ill from Int’l duty. Hopefully after yesterday and the talks midweek that Cooper alluded too we can start to move forward again.

For me the main criticism of Sangare is that he doesn’t track runners from midfield. We have conceded a number of goals because of this. The same criticism can be levelled at Mangala as well but he is so good in tight spaces when being pressed. Yates and Koyuate might lack quality on the ball but they do track runners and brilliant at winning second balls. If Sangare is going to nail down a starting berth he will need to do more running.
