Tonight was a must win to put pressure on the top two and to appear convincing auto contenders.

Didn't lose it. It's progress. Of sorts.

We seem to lose something after Sow went off.

It's not bad for a 6 month team.

SA.

What this side does need is a bit of injection of fresh blood. A bit more competition for places - particularly on the wings. Grabban really was feeding off scraps. Can really only remember him getting one chance and he took it. Most chances were speculative chances from outside box.

Really struggled to break them down which is why these two reading games have been so freaking frustrating. When you take the lead late, learn how to defend and see the game out.

Very good substitute for them to be able to bring someone of Baldock’s quality on. Naive from Forest yet again and wish we would cut out crosses at source.

The manager has done wonders with the limitations of the current squad particularly centre midfield, time to add some real quality if we’re serious this year.

Silva once again flattered to deceive. Does he even realise you’re supposed to pass to a player in the same coloured shirt as himself.

If the hierarchy are actually serious about promotion, then them two specimens who are apparently conducting our transfers need to start earning there wage and get these supposedly players we’re apparently after in asap.

We’d done the hard work against a really well drilled side. So frustrating that we went so deep after scoring.

Again!

Looked a bit jaded tonight. We didn't really deserve more than point. Hopefully Brentford will put out a strong team in Cup and be knackered on Tuesday night.

190 minutes I have endured vs Reading. Taken the lead twice for a total of about 3 or 4 minutes.

Frustrating, but Reading have looked a decent team in both games.

I don’t agree- it was like a game of chess and we’d just done enough.

To be fair, Silva just had one of those nights all players can have. We know he is better than he showed tonight.  Interesting reaction when he got sponsors MOTM. He is probably the sponsors CEOs 5 year old Sons favourite player, so was going to get it whatever.

Samba should have saved it too I thought, haven't seen it on TV yet though.

In both games, but particularly this evening, Reading barely posed a threat in the 10-15 minutes before we scored. It was not as if we were under severe pressure. That's what makes both goals conceded so frustrating. And it has happened a few too many times in the last couple of months v Middlesbrough, v Millwall. It's a nasty habit that we really struggle to see out games.

It has so far been the difference between automatic and play offs and fear it will be our undoing this season.

Fair enough, but I don't watch chess, I watch football. I thought Reading looked quite dangerous, with us blocking a few. We had no final ball at all tonight, until Ameobi's cross-shot, despite some useful situations. In my opinion, neither team deserved to win. We created one chance I think and a half chance.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Reading - BadDog - 22-01-2020

Come away from that feeling more positive.

Yes I am gutted, but we controlled that game the best I have seen us do that all season.

We need Tobias back, get the new lads in and it's game on for the rest of the season.
