Next 2 And A Bit Weeks & The Sheep Game - Paplane - 14-08-2019

Preston H Saturday.
What a run of fixtures that is! Clearly all the players are going to get some game time between now and the international break. The question for me is, does Sabri risk a full strength side against the sheep? I say yes, let's go for them.
But look at their fixtures in the period! Will they risk their best against us?

Well if we did that Sniff then I'd say we're on with a promotion push.
I cant see it though, not because we're not good enough, but because the league is so unpredictable.

Before we get ahead of ourselves we need to stop playing like a team of strangers, start dominating games and making scoring chances. We are creating next to nothing going forwards from what I have seen so far, do that and the results will come eventually.

With just the one game to go after the Sheep match before the international break I reckon both clubs will put very strong teams out. Neither club will want to lose because they know what it means to the fans.

Almost the reverse of Montys early days. If Silva and Lolley can get going then creativity should improve, especially once Carvalho joins the fray.
We need to keep the ball better and improve decision making in attacking third if we want to be more creative - sounds easy if you say if quickly....

Ball retention was seriously lacking I thought against Leeds and that caused problems with the ball coming back all the time. It came down to a lack of composure and as someone pointed out on here, possibly Watson's lack of mobility. The Ameobi outlet and Sow's composure in tight situations made a world of difference when they came on.

one of the dullest matches i ever watched and got soaked after to make it worse. they have seanie maguire back now as well. he is one to watch

We lost to both Birmingham and Preston at home last season.
Fulham replace one of the promoted teams where we managed a point at best away.
Charlton replace the relegated teams where we won one, drew one and lost one away.
So anything better than 4 points from these games would easily be an improvement on last season:

Preston H Saturday
*Technically we are already 1 point down from last season after the WBA and Leeds games.
