RE: Nottingham Forest - Blackpool - Malcolm X - 07-01-2024

Way too complacent today. It took us going two goals down to realise we were in a competitive game and not a training session. Some of our players aren't as good as they think they are.

Thought Montiel and Wood in particular were poor which was disappointing as they've been two of our brightest sparks since Nuno came in. Wood particularly should've had a hat trick.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Blackpool - Paplane - 07-01-2024

Should have been going today but had to give our tickets away due to a family issue. Was gutted.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Blackpool - zicorice - 07-01-2024

Positives
- We are in the hat for 4th round.
- Came from 2 down.
- MGWs strike was worth the entrance fee (and not just because it was cheap).
- It seemed like there were two Domingez's on pitch he runs around that much.
- People who dont normally go had the chance to visit WFCG.
- Taveres was a bit less sh1t than I thought he was. But for a unit is soft as.
- The ref was really good. Perhaps VAR is a load of sh1t.

Negatives
- Predictably poor performances all over the pitch against lower league opposition.
- Some absolute idiots got there hands on tickets. Social media has gone into a frenzy with loads of "the bloke/family/person sat next too/infront of/ near me.." stories.  (For the record my story: I shouted FFS after 2nd goal and bloke told me to watch my language...He was then talking to a steward at half time, so I f@(ked off back to my normal seat in A block just in case-never sitting in family area again. Apologies to the families I offended, my own wife and 10 year old included. Wonder if the snitch grassed on Worrall and Montiel who due to subdued atmosphere could clearly be heard swearing at each other!-I digress). People moaning about atmosphere and why SC holders didn't go etc... also a bit unsavoury Atmosphere was always going to crap- except in away end.
- It was f@(King freezing.

Today was very much a case of "after the Lord Mayors show", so to get out of jail a bit has added to my completely unfounded but confident feeling we are going to Wembley. Dunno why. But it's happening. And I will be there despite the pr1ck who thinks a bit of industrial language at football is not allowed, especially not in Block E.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Blackpool - ozzyten10 - 07-01-2024

Block E is more for families though.
I was in LB - never again. Too old to stand and there were idiots cramming in with their mates on our row. Time for the club to introduce safe standing I think - it is actually dangerous when seats in front are at shin level!

I was very similar and had to take myself out after their 2nd went in even missed nico’s goal (lots of other lads i see every week were also down on the concourse .  My season card is in LB so decided to sit in my own seat , I only recognised a few around me and we had lots of young children (even though for a PL game this is not allowed and the club should look into this ) and tourists (getting brand new scarf’s out of packaging and taking selfies ) sat all around us even signing the song Nottingham is full of fun got some very unsavoury looks . I sit with my family every week including my 16 year old , but I accept that he will hear explicit language especially from myself . I appreciate that the club needs to bring through the next generation of supporters but surly we need certain areas of the ground .
Also i would love the LB to Become Safe Standing and think it would only add to the Match day atmosphere.

You have just reminded me of when we played Swansea at the WFCG in the promotion season. I had gone down with my eldest son and my 11 year old grandson. My grandson was singing all the songs with the rest of the crowd, including the swear words. I just stood there laughing at him. No point me saying anything as I used to stand on the Trent End from aged 13 doing exactly the same thing!

There is no point bollocking kids for swearing, especially at a football match, when everyone else (including me and his dad) were doing it also. My Son has told him though that if he ever hears him swear in front of his Mum or Grandma or anytime at school, he will get a thick earhole.

At the end of the day, irrespective of Cloughie trying to make a point to the Trent End back in the late 70's, football is a working class game, watched predominantly by working class men and women and their children. Swearing is a part of a great many working class families DNA. Rightly or wrongly, but thats how it is.

To those new to attending a football match for the first time, they should know swearing is a part of that experience. You can hear it on the TV for gods sake! It is not dubbed in by Sky ya know!

RE: Nottingham Forest - Blackpool - Salvatore Matrecano - 07-01-2024

Think fair enough to have families here for a few cup games. Should we get to a later round and draw a big name it will go back to being mainly SC holders. There were a few idiots too unfortunately.

Unrelated, shout out to Jordan Gabriel, didn’t celebrate his goal, applauded Forest fans before and after the game. He clearly appreciates the club that gave him a start and probably realises himself he isnt PL standard but hopefully he will still have a good career in the game. If a some other players we have had down the years with far greater ability had Jordan’s attitude and commitment Im pretty certain we wouldn’t have spent 20 odd years in the wilderness.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Blackpool - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 08-01-2024

If Wood was on his game yesterday then we would have won that game.

As for the keeper he had absolutely nothing to do for 90% of the match and couldn't be blamed for either goal so I find criticism of his performance rather weird.

Thought my mate Montiel was poor although he was great against Newcastle and Man Utd and he did provide another assist for Dominquez.

As for their goals I prefer to rewind a bit further than Montiel's header. Toffolo's lack of desire to stop the cross coming in for the first goal was alarming and I was not surprised to see him hooked at half time. Then for the second we can rewind to Yates giving the ball away with a terrible pass, then Worrall's total lack of desire to stop the cross coming in just like Toffolo and bang we are 2-0 down.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Blackpool - Salvatore Matrecano - 08-01-2024

The entire defence was culpable for both goals, the lack of effort and positioning to cut out the cross both times was alarming.

The goalkeeper has a much wider job than making saves. It involves commanding the area, cutting out crosses, organising the defence. Need to see Ody do far more to convince me he is at the level we need.

He is a keeper who doesn’t make saves. Don’t want to criticise how players too much but he isn’t very good. I was in my usual seat in the lower tier behind the Trent End goal, so you can see a lot of what the Goalies are doing. Their keeper was better than ours. He made a great save from a Yates header and looked competent in possession. There was a cross in the first half which he went for and got nowhere near, he was lucky a defender got his head on the ball. Turner is definitely the better keeper but his kicking is a complete liability. We are desperate for an improvement.

I can understand the criticism but he doesn't become a bad goalkeeper over night.

He's been brilliant for the Greek national team and believe me he does make saves, ask Mbappe and the French national team.

Also you can't be Benfica's number 1 for five years if you are shit.

As I said though I can understand the criticism but given time I think he can prove the doubters wrong.

Having said all of that I would happily take Jose SA.
